We now use Expression, our own platform built on Lovable, for new websites. That is a change in how we build. It is not a change in who we look after.

If Big Front Door built your website between 2009 and early 2026 on our previous platform, we want to be clear: we are still here to update, patch and support it for as long as you need us to.

You do not become less important because your website was built before our latest change. You do not go to the back of the queue. And you do not need a new website simply because we now build differently.

For you, it is very much business as usual.

Your website still matters

A website is not finished the day it goes live. It needs attention throughout its working life. Software needs updating. Security issues need addressing. Details change. Sometimes something stops behaving as it should, and you need someone who knows the site to take a look.

That work remains part of what we do.

We have been trading in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, since 2009. The clients who have trusted us over those years are not a footnote to our next chapter. They are a large part of why we are here.

Looking after those relationships means looking after the websites behind them. Not just when a redesign comes around. Not just when there is something new to announce. It means being there for the ordinary, necessary work that keeps a site useful.

What stays the same

Our move to Expression does not, by itself, change your existing support arrangements. The work we have agreed with you remains the work we are here to do.

Depending on those arrangements and what your site needs, that can include:

  • Updating the software your website runs on.
  • Applying security patches and addressing known issues.
  • Investigating faults and helping put them right.
  • Making agreed changes to content and functionality.
  • Giving you straightforward advice about maintenance and next steps.

If you have a question or need help, contact us as you normally would. You do not need to learn about Expression before asking us to fix something on your current site.

If you are unsure what your existing support covers, we can go through that with you. We would rather make it clear than leave you guessing.

No forced move

Choosing a platform for new projects is one decision. Deciding whether an existing website needs replacing is another. We will not confuse the two.

If your website does its job, serves your customers and can be maintained sensibly, our move to Expression is not a reason to replace it.

A rebuild takes time, thought and money. It should solve a real problem or meet a real need. It should not be something you feel pushed into because your web agency has changed its tools.

Your website should change when it makes sense for your business, not simply because we have changed how we build new sites.

Long-term support needs honest advice

Our commitment to supporting you is long term. But responsible support also means being honest about the software a website depends on.

Older software can reach a point where its original developers no longer provide security fixes. An extension may stop being maintained. Hosting requirements can change. Those are practical issues we need to assess, not reasons to spring a sales pitch on you.

If a limitation affects your site, we will explain what it means and discuss the sensible options. Sometimes that may mean an update or a replacement for one part of the site. Sometimes a bigger change may be worth considering.

We will not promise that every piece of old software can run safely forever. We will remain committed to helping you find a workable way forward. That is what proper support should look like.

Still your web agency

Expression is where we are taking new builds. It does not draw a line through the work, trust or relationships that came before it.

Whether your website launched recently or has been with you for years, you remain important to Big Front Door. We are still here for the updates, the patches, the questions and the fixes.

There is nothing you need to do because of this change. Keep using your website. Keep telling us what you need. We will keep looking after you.
